Virginia de Gersigny
Virginia was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and trained at the Royal Ballet School. She joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2001, where she was promoted to First Artist in 2003.
Whilst there she danced a number of featured roles, including in Balanchine's Apollo, Ashton's 5 Brahms Waltzes, and Bintley and Samsova's Giselle. Most recently she has performed as a soloist with Victor Ullate Ballet in Madrid.
Virginia joined Rambert in December 2007.
Thomasin Gülgeç
Thomasin Gülgeç Born in Oxford, Thomasin trained at the Rambert School and was a member of Swindon Youth Dance Company. In 2001 he won the Cecchetti Fewster award for Most Promising Male Dancer.
Thomasin joined Rambert in February 2003 and, during his time with the Company, has created roles in Fin Walker's Reflection, Javier de Frutos' Elsa Canasta, Kim Brandstrup's Songs of a Wayfarer and Aletta Collins' bloom. Thomasin created a main role in Darshan Singh Bhuller's Stand and Stare.
Renaud Wiser Born in Switzerland, Renaud trained at the School of Dance in Geneva.
After dancing for Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève he joined the National Ballet of Marseille in France, then went on to dance with Gothenburg Ballet, before joining Rambert in 2004, Renaud choreographed At the border of you for Resolution! 2006 at The Place.
Patricia Okenwa
Born in Germany, Patricia trained at the Rambert School. Most recently she has danced with The Ensemble Group, Arc Dance Company and at the HIP Dance Festival at The Place.
She has been a guest teacher at the Rambert School and the Urdang Academy. Patricia joined Rambert under the Apprentice Dancers' Scheme in 2004 and choreographed her first work for a Rambert Workshop Season in 2006.
Miguel AltunagaMiguel trained at the National School of Art, Havana. From 2001, he danced with the National Contemporary Dance Company of Cuba, touring extensively. He won the Cuban Best Male Solo Award in 2002.
He has performed for many international choreographers, including in Carlos Acosta's Tocororo, and recently choreographed for bands Simply Red and the Zutons. He joined Rambert in autumn 2007.
Mbulelo NdabeniBorn in Ugie, South Africa, Mbulelo trained at Dance For All, UCT Dance School, and at San Francisco Academy of Ballet.
In 2004 he obtained a scholarship to study at the London Studio Centre. He performed with Cape Town City Ballet and appeared in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. Mbulelo joined Rambert in autumn 2007.
Malgorzata Dzierzon
Malgorzata was born in Gliwice, Poland. After graduating from Bytom State School of Ballet she worked with Malaika Kusumi in Frankfurt am Main.
From 1997-2000 she danced with Royal Danish Ballet performing full length classical productions as well as works by Balanchine, Neumeier and Bejart. From 2000-2002 she worked with Peter Schaufuss Ballet and Singapore Dance Theater, before joining Sweden's Gothenburg Ballet where she performed works by de Frutos, Duato, Fonte, Galili and Tankard, and choreographed Nordique Lights for Gothenburg Ballet Workshop.
Kyril Burlov Kyril graduated from Riga Ballet school in 1996 as a dancer and Latvian National Academy as a choreographer in 2004, while he was a soloist in Latvian National Opera House.
In the UK he has performed as a soloist with Northern Ballet Theatre and The Cathy Marston Project. Cyril taught classical, modern and historical dance in Bolderajas Art school and choreographed two ballets for the Latvian National Opera House.
He also choreographed for the Baltic International Festival. He joined Rambert in 2007.
Angela Towler Angela trained at London Contemporary Dance School from 1992 to 1995, graduating with a first class BA Honours degree. On graduating, she joined Richard Alston Dance Company until 1999, when she joined Rambert Dance Company.
She has worked with many choreographers including Christopher Bruce, Siobhan Davies, Jirí Kylián, Mats Ek, Wayne McGregor, Michael Clark and Aletta Collins. Angela has recently collaborated with Martin Joyce on Funerailles, a piece commissioned by the Herald and Tribune along with Mercury, an evening commissioned by Hugo Boss for AIDS awareness, among others.
Angela was recently nominated by the TMA for the Achievement in Dance Award for her performances.
